Clint and Kari had a beautiful ceremony and an awesome wedding day. I loved all the details Kari and her mom picked out from the flowers, to her gorgeous hairpiece, to the chandeliers hanging from the reception hall. Mandy and Matt are a super sweet couple. I had a blast with the girls in the morning. It sounds like Mandy doesn’t really dress up a whole lot— so it was super fun to see her transformed into this beautiful little bride! Her mom surprised her with a limo ride and we all wandered around town for a bit making for a relaxed time before the ceremony. The wedding itself was beautiful with some of the most heart felt handwritten vows I’ve heard. All in all it was a pretty great day. a personal note about a recent wedding…

Honestly I’m not quite sure how to begin this blog post, but I wanted to share a few thoughts with all of you. We just received the news that one of our recent brides passed away this week. I don’t know that anyone is ever quite prepared for death, regardless of any situation surrounding it. I’m not sharing names simply because I feel like this story is theirs to share and not ours, but I do however want to share some thoughts that Shane and I have had while thinking about how to respond to their situation.

We are part of a business that is based largely on emotion, a dream day, the perfect dress, delicious food, beautiful flowers, and just the right decor. Don’t get me wrong I think all of these things are great, I know how much fun it is to plan a wedding, but the truth of the matter is sometimes while we are so wrapped up in perfecting this one day it is easy to forget the real reason for all this planning. Weddings are a day to celebrate two individuals coming together, it’s a day to celebrate life and love, it’s a day to celebrate you and the one you love.

This certainly has given both Shane and I pause. It’s sobering to realize how hard this must be for her new husband and family, but at the same time inspiring. The fact that they wanted to celebrate with their closest friends and family and declare their love before them in a very intimate and special way is true testament to their relationship and their love.

All this to say, take a moment, if you are still in the midst of planning your wedding, pause and tell your fiancé you love them. Enjoy this time with family and friends as you plan for your own big day. And when you get stressed over the perfect whatever it might be don’t forget what this day is supposed to be about. Just stop for a minute and then enjoy every moment.

Our prayers are with the family. Thank you so much for letting us be part of your lives and the wedding day. We feel honored to have been there to document this time. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for any of you.

Amber and I go way back to high school at Lakeland Christian Academy in Warsaw. I was on my way out and she was on her way in. So I was soooo excited when she contacted us to do her wedding photos. It was so much fun seeing her again and getting to know Chad, she and Chad make an awesome couple and honestly the whole wedding weekend was not only super fabulous but also super fun. Stefanie and Randy’s wedding was perfect. It was simple, sweet, and totally about the happy couple. Jacquelyn and Brian had the perfect setting for a summer wedding. Her aunt and uncle graciously offered up their backyard complete with a picturesque little cabin and pond. The day started out with loads of rain that miraculously cleared just in time for these two to say “I DO” ! You couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect. I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous flowers from one of our favorites— bouquets by Lillian Rose, a friend of the family Cathy Cornelius did all the decorating and large floral arrangement, then there were all the yummy details from fan programs, to a lemonade social, to ribbons and orchids hanging from the trees. Oh— and did I mention a pretty stunning wedding dress so unique and as everyone told me all day sooo Jackie! The reception even had a photobooth from shutter booth, surprise koloches, and of course a steller performance of “We Built this City” from the groom. Overall it was a fantastic wedding day folks and we of course were honored to be there documenting the day! Congratulations and enjoy a sneak peek with more to come!!!

We had the pleasure of meeting Laura at one of her best friends’ weddings a couple years ago and were so excited when she too wanted us to document her wedding day! She and Justin are a super cute couple and while their wedding was originally scheduled for October of this year Laura was a completely calm bride when they had to push it forward due to Justin being deployed earlier then expected. The wedding day was a great celebration with family and friends and we felt so honored to be there to witness and document the day! Best wishes from the nest!

So The Lantern had this contraption that was a combination of wood, glass, and alcohol. And when it met up with the right group of people synchronized drinking was born. It just so happens that Aaron, Meghan, and crew took to it like ducks to water. There will be more on this story as it unfolds. (That last line was for Aaron).

I know Aaron from my days at the Journal Gazette. Aaron is a videographer for news center 21. He and I stood side by side at variety of events and it was an honor to be by his side again, but this time for his wedding! Aaron and Meghan make an awesome couple. They are fun loving, hilarious, sweet, and generally speaking pretty great. We’ve enjoyed getting to know them as a couple and were so excited to be part of their wedding day.
