I’m not sure where to begin or end with this wedding, it was a complete feast for the senses for an entire week. “Is it too much?” Cindi kept asking us – delighted that it was, delighted to share her and Carlson’s love with their closest family and friends. While it seemed at every corner there was a surprise and Cindi’s eye’s would twinkle as she soaked in everyone’s reactions, it wasn’t the “stuff” that made this a great wedding. It wasn’t the exotic location, acrobats, fire dancers, the ocean, the decorations, or any other special touches that it was apparent great thought went into. It was simply the joy – it was infectious. And it was truly a magical thing to be a part of. So thank you, Carlson & Cindi, for letting us share in that joy. And congratulations.

We are so happy for Kenny & Kristin, who had an amazing wedding on the site of their future home out in the country. Despite some unseasonably chilly weather, the day was gorgeous, the hayride was fantastic, the decor was spot on, the sunset was perfect, and most importantly, its was clear to everyone there that these two are deeply in love. Thanks for your patience with us, and congrats again.

This is the second time we have worked with the Osterholt family for a wedding and it was just as much fun as the first time. We are so happy for Matt and Kenda and hope they keep TCB, baby. TCB! Congrats guys, and Merry Christmas.

Nick & Rachel {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photography}

Ahhh…. The last wedding of the season for Happinest, and what a fitting book end to a great year. Nick and Rachel were super to work with and were, well, Nick and Rachel, as you will see from the photos. Usually we are the ones entertaining on the wedding day, trying to get people to relax and be natural but on their day we just enjoyed the show. Reigning these two in isn’t always possible, so occasionally, they got some, ahem – creative portraits. We still got some gorgeous shots, too – but it doesn’t hurt when you’re couple is smoking hot to begin with. I think our new favorite church is the breath taking St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Its perfect. I even love that they kick you out about 20 minutes after the ceremony – no lollygagging allowed. The reception was downtown at the Grand Wayne and it was gorgeous. Finally, one of the best bands around, Good Night Gracie, kept the crowd moving. Congrats guys, we hope this little teaser can keep you hanging on until we get everything up and running.

Love, love, love the church.Janelle wanted a shot to show off the girls’ shoes, and the guys’ socks – she explained her vision to me and the guys. This is what she came up with and what we interpreted. Pretty much the same thing – right?These are pretty indicative of how a lot of the “posed” portion of the day went…

The Grand Wayne is one of the few places in town that I know of that has gobo lighting – it definitely lends to the drama. And I couldn’t help but sneak in a little shot of Janelle with Rachel there at the end when she got pulled into the action, one of her best faces to date.

Chris & Amanda {Phoenix, AZ Wedding Photography}

We had a fantastic time in Arizona with Kit and Amanda, and what an honor to shoot for friends. To document the beginning of this new stage in their life together was an absolute pleasure. They had an amazing venue, The Boojum Tree – that was unlike any place we’ve ever photographed before, and I think you could go there a hundred times and find some new corner each visit. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of the celebration and we hope this little sneak peek tides you over until we get everything up and running. Oh, and sorry we made you miss dancing to Apache, I hope you’ll forgive us.

Josh & Kelly – The Premiere {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photogrpahy}

Kelly and Josh were up for anything on their wedding day and scheduled in ample down time to hang out, which gave us all the ability to enjoy the day and wander off the beaten path a few times for some more adventurous portraiture – which of course we loved as photographers. Who doesn’t love when the bride suggests, “Want me to lay down in that field?” And obviously the time and effort spent on details for the wedding showed – loved the use of old broaches as table accents, and I know we’ve said it before, but the Allen County Courthouse is just magnificent. Add in some acrobatic and ambitious reception entrances, a great dane, physics lab complete with electroshock thing (we failed miserably at incorporating it), crowd surfing, delicious cupcakes from The Flying Cupcake, and the messiest cake cutting on record – it was quite a day…
Kelly recently contacted me to see if I could take requests for the slideshow soundtrack. Unfortunately, I don’t think we could afford the royalties for the song she had in mind, and let’s be honest, no one sounds like the Chili Peppers – so I had to go a completely different direction with the options we had at hand, but it’s a song I love and I hope it does the trick. Congrats guys and hang in there as we put the finishing touches on a few things before its all ready.

Theo & Amber – The Premiere {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photography}

We are so happy to be getting up one of our favorite weddings of the year, and are pleased to present Amber and Theo’s Premiere slide show. I must admit that choosing music for this from our limited selection for two huge music fans was a bit intimidating. Theo encouraged me to take another listen to a few bands he recommended and you know what – I dig Deathcab for Cutie. Congrats guys – I hope it was worth the wait.
