Josh & Kelly – The Premiere {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photogrpahy}

Kelly and Josh were up for anything on their wedding day and scheduled in ample down time to hang out, which gave us all the ability to enjoy the day and wander off the beaten path a few times for some more adventurous portraiture – which of course we loved as photographers. Who doesn’t love when the bride suggests, “Want me to lay down in that field?” And obviously the time and effort spent on details for the wedding showed – loved the use of old broaches as table accents, and I know we’ve said it before, but the Allen County Courthouse is just magnificent. Add in some acrobatic and ambitious reception entrances, a great dane, physics lab complete with electroshock thing (we failed miserably at incorporating it), crowd surfing, delicious cupcakes from The Flying Cupcake, and the messiest cake cutting on record – it was quite a day…
Kelly recently contacted me to see if I could take requests for the slideshow soundtrack. Unfortunately, I don’t think we could afford the royalties for the song she had in mind, and let’s be honest, no one sounds like the Chili Peppers – so I had to go a completely different direction with the options we had at hand, but it’s a song I love and I hope it does the trick. Congrats guys and hang in there as we put the finishing touches on a few things before its all ready.

Theo & Amber – The Premiere {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photography}

We are so happy to be getting up one of our favorite weddings of the year, and are pleased to present Amber and Theo’s Premiere slide show. I must admit that choosing music for this from our limited selection for two huge music fans was a bit intimidating. Theo encouraged me to take another listen to a few bands he recommended and you know what – I dig Deathcab for Cutie. Congrats guys – I hope it was worth the wait.

We are SOOO behind on blogging! I know we have several couples chomping at the bit to get some sneak peeks or full galleries up and running. It has been a crazy fall, as it always is, but we are still swinging for the fences here at the nest. We definitely appreciate your patience and grace as we keep putting in the overtime.

You may remember from their engagement session, that I used to work with Brandon. It was great to see familiar faces, and also fantastic to be a part of the day for two people so genuinely happy to get married. Once again back at the beautiful Allen County Courthouse – one of our favorite venues – Heather decided to have both ceremony and reception there. If you can find the right spot, this is one of the best approaches to the wedding day in our humble opinion – less travel time, less decorating, more time together, and more time to party – you can’t beat it.

Sometimes, especially toward the end of a long wedding season, we might start to assume we have seen it all at a wedding. Heather and Brandon had a few surprises that definitely spiced up the day and kept us on our toes. From little details like some custom Nike kicks for both bride and groom (both have a confessed shoe fetish), to a photo booth for guests, to B-Boys and a B-Girl upping the ante on their grand entrance, the couple infused personal touches almost everywhere you looked. We had a great time and hope this little preview helps keep you tided over until we get everything up and running. Congrats! Oh, and Brandon – thanks for the cold.

It is fairly common for the bride to be bubbling with excitement on the wedding day, which was the case with Ali. Nick played it pretty cool up until the ceremony – all the way to the point of seeing Ali. It was like her enthusiasm was contagious – he could hardly contain himself. They giggled a lot together the rest of the day – it was a beautiful thing to be a part of. Congrats guys – I know these were a little slow coming but hopefully well worth it.

Josh and Kelly met in physics lab several years ago where they explored the laws of attraction… One bad pun – I had to. It was Kelly’s idea to have their first look be there as well. We thought it was fantastic. Turns out Kelly has a lot of ideas, and not just for images she likes. Scroll down for one of the most brutal cake cuttings I’ve ever witnessed – it was hilarious. We are pleased to present the long awaited Premiere from Steve & Angie’s wedding here in Fort Wayne. I was told recently that no one reads these things because they’re here for the images….So if a picture is worth a thousand words, and there’s a little over a hundred in the slideshow then Angie and Steve look like a million bucks! Nick + Hillary – The Premiere {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photography}

I feel like time has literally flown by since this wedding – where did the summer go? We finally have everything ready to go from Nick and Hillary’s Embassy wedding – with perhaps the most touching father / daughter and mother / son dances we have had the pleasure of capturing. This whole wedding had an old Hollywood Deco feel to it and we tried to play it up. Congrats guys, we hope you love them.

Steve + Angie {Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photography}

How great is it to work with people you know? We crammed in a lot of Steve and Angie over the last few months, with Angie being in another of our weddings earlier this season, tramping around Chicago for an engagement session last month, and then shooting their wedding a few weekends ago. So they had seen us work, we had seen them work, and I had already broken the ice to be able to give them a little bit of a hard time. At one point while taking portraits I told Angie her Just Married sign was misspelled and she about had a heart attack – I had to backtrack really quickly and tell her I was only kidding. If you know Angie, she seems to be quite capable of charming anybody into getting whatever she wants, so I felt a little picking was in order. Sorry Steve, I hope that didn’t get you in trouble. It was a fantastic day, one of those glorious heat advisory days where you want to melt when you go outside, but somehow we all survived and things turned out beautifully. I would tell you how beautiful and fun things were, but there’s really no need – the pictures below prove it. Congrats again and we hope these keep you chomping at the bit until everything else is ready.
